I had been thinking that PKM involved a detailed, strategic and digitally-complicated method for which to survive in a multi-modal century. I thought it was waaaaaay different to the process I had been applying successfully throughout this qualification. But I think I was wrong.
Throughout the MLAD I’ve started operating in a concerted manner of absorption and filtration. My approach is more geared towards Weekly Personal Knowledge Management (WPKM), with different elements of seek, sense, share becoming more prevalent as the days progress.
As I mentioned, the term ‘filter failure’ really resonated with me….. “I do that” I thought.
- I don’t care for twitter. My housemate has been trying to convince me that I'm missing out on the immediate, unscripted and human version of current events by not being part of the twitter revolution. But ever since I was taught to think for myself, I've had trouble with the concept of following. So, I filter it out.
- I don’t read facebook feeds. I don’t particularly care what people are thinking…aloud….in public….for attention. So, I filter it out.
These next two images are an attempt at my WPKM. As you’ll see, I’ve tried to remove my complexity tolerance.
